The Recipe follows Socorro, a cleaning lady living in New York, as she returns to the Philippines and confronts the distance between the life she has built abroad and the family life she thought she was returning to.
A story of migration, expectation and the tensions that surface when someone comes home, the film carries its sharpest idea in its original tagline: revenge is sweetest when served with rice.
